About Fred Ellis
Fred Ellis drew on memories and experiences from his time as an American exchange student in the Netherlands for The Awakening of the Raven. He has said that he waited decades before finally pursuing the goal of writing the book and cites life experience and a formative young love among his inspirations. Its companion, The (Re)awakening of the Raven, revisits the story from Charlotte’s perspective while retaining Ellis as the sole public author credit.
